Dan Coll, founder of 317 Advisors

I've spent more than twenty years in ecommerce fulfillment and third-party logistics: as a founder, as a Fortune 100 executive, and as a partner to the technology companies serving this industry.

I started Rapid Fulfillment in 2003 and built it into a global 3PL serving digital brands, CPG companies, and Fortune 500 clients across the US, Asia, and Europe. At Rapid Fulfillment we closed 200+ accounts and held 98% retention. I sold the business in 2013.

From there I joined GENCO, which FedEx acquired in 2015. I built and launched FedEx Fulfillment: assembling the leadership team, taking it from concept through national launch in February 2017, and owning the P&L across operations, technology, and commercial. I also owned FedEx's marketplace and platform partnerships with Walmart, Google, eBay, Alibaba, Shopify, ChannelAdvisor, and SPS Commerce.

At Kenco I built a fulfillment business unit from nothing: strategy, financial model, hiring, go-to-market, and a flagship facility in Jeffersonville, Indiana, with full P&L responsibility.

Most recently I was a founding partner at Fulfillment IQ, leading the 3PL commercial practice and strategic partnerships with Prologis, Manhattan Associates, Deposco, Logiwa, and many other solution providers. I sold my interest in 2026.

Along the way I've trained hundreds of 3PL professionals across North America, spoken at industry conferences, and served as a media spokesperson for FedEx.

I live outside Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and work with clients across North America.

What I'm doing now

Through 317 Advisors, I work with two kinds of clients: technology and service vendors trying to sell into 3PLs, and 3PLs and their investors trying to build commercial organizations that scale past the founder.
